Untitled 4 - SignLadies and Gentlemen.

For the last 20 years the Palace Barracks Memorial Garden in Holywood, Northern Ireland has been a place of remembrance for the bereaved families and friends of members of the Armed Forces who lost their lives Worldwide in the last 60 years.

I designed the Palace Barracks Memorial Garden and have maintained it as a place of remembrance for 20 years on a voluntary basis for those bereaved families, friends and comrades of members of the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, Army and Royal Air Force.

I also have had the honour of designing the 16 Air Assault Brigade Memorial Garden in Colchester, 1 Para SFSG Memorial Gardens in Wales, The 321 EOD memorials in Northern Ireland and the Royal Army Veterinary Corps, as well as other memorials in Northern Ireland.

9,600 Servicemen and Women are remembered with pride and honour in the Memorial Gardens and on our memorial garden website as well as pages on facebook. .Last year alone we had over 142.000 visits to the Website.

I am now 70 years old and have decided to write a book about  those men and women of our armed forces who lost their lives in Afghanistan. The book will be A4 size in a landscape design in full colour,  with photographs of all those killed.  Four photos per page with text alongside the photo of the person killed, as well as the Regimental cap badge. The book cover ,   paper  and photographs used will be of a very high standard. See below rough draft.

When the book is published. £2 per book will go to the Army Benevolent Fund, £1  per book to SSAFA Forces Help and £1 per book to the Falklands Families Association. I haven’t decided how many copies there will be. The reason being is that I am trying to gauge how much interest  in this memorial publication there might be

To go on the waiting list Email.  albert.owens@btinternet.com You will be informed when the book has been published and  how to order.
